ABOUT RENIER DIAZ DE LA PORTILLA
Renier Diaz de la Portilla is an experienced lawyer, mediator and former lawmaker. Born and raised in Miami-Dade County, Renier’s client-centered approach to the practice of law leads him to run for County Court Judge today. He humbly seeks your vote and support to serve the residents of Miami-Dade on the County Bench.
Renier has handled hundreds of legal cases and mediated more than a thousand disputes. Renier has represented clients at almost every level of Florida’s Courts.
Despite a busy schedule, Renier makes time to serve his community, his profession, and his country. He was an elected member of the Miami-Dade School Board for eight years, served on numerous State of Florida and Miami-Dade County volunteer committees, and was appointed by both Republican Senator Marco Rubio and Democrat Senator Bill Nelson to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission in 2017 to vet applicants for federal judgeships, U.S. Attorney, and U.S. Marshal for appointment by The President of The United States.
Renier Diaz de la Portilla’s hard work has earned him an “AV Preeminent Rating” in Martindale-Hubbell peer reviews from lawyers and judges in the legal profession— the highest distinction for professionalism, competence, and ethics in the practice of law.
On his days off Renier enjoys reading, exercising, and eating spicy Buffalo-style chicken wings with his 10-year-old boy, David.
